I must confess, I am a self-improvement junkie. Currently, I can’t even begin to count how many self-improvement tactics and books I have invested in. Some have been mediocre at best, others have been absolutely groundbreaking. I think there are definitely some classics out there, but like most things, one size does not fit all. Some books I’m sure will resonate with you more than others and that’s okay. I think it’s important to find what works for you and like they say “where your focus goes, your energy flows”. So let’s focus on some positive, inspiring and books for different areas of your life!
Brene has one of the most viewed TED talks and knows a thing a two about vulnerability. It takes true courage to lead others, not with status, power and ignorance, but with curiosity, courage and you guessed it- vulnerability. Brene digs deep into what makes a great leader- whether in your personal life or in business. If you’re an entrepreneur, want to fully show up and make a difference, I highly recommend this book.
Unlike other financial self-help books, this one offers a practical, step by step guide that is reasonable. I like Ramit’s no bullshit approach: stop paying for ATM and overdraft fees, keep money in your budget just to spend and start saving as early as possible (to benefit from compound interest). I think most people would find a lot of value in this book, whether it’s to pay off debt, save more for retirement or to simply invest in yourself.
When I think of books that have changed my life- I always come back to this one. Your life should flow naturally, not be stagnant and full of fear. Gabby takes her readers on a soul searching, love based journey. At the time, I was feeling powerless and stuck and realized how easy it was to release this fear and turn my thoughts and energy towards love. This is for anyone looking to be happier, brighter and full of love- get ready for big miracles to happen!
“My commitment with this book is to wake up as many people as possible to their connection to faith and joy. In that connection, we can be guided to our true power: to be love and spread love” – Gabrielle Bernstein
Another life trans-formative book- Louise Hay is the OG of self-help books. The book itself is stunning- with heartwarming pictures and beautiful messages, it’s hard to feel good just by looking at this book! All about the power of our mind and how our thoughts create our reality. Throughout this book she offers readers guidance and practical tips on how to change your life. It takes daily commitment (affirmations, self-awareness and changing habits) but is extremely rewarding if you’re willing to do it. Before I started this book, I was in a tough spot in my life- feeling stuck, in my job and my city, but with the help of this book, I was willing to thrive.
I hope you enjoy these book recommendations, give us a like and share with someone who might need these books. Hopefully one resonates with you all to improve any or all facets of your life.
