1.Read Whenever You Can
The feeling of warmness and cozyness I get when I finish a good novel, poem, or any self-improvement books, is worth every penny or the trip to the library.
Then again, I’m a bookworm, I read all the time when I can. So for those who are just getting started with reading, it won’t be fun at first. However, once you get the hang of it; it’s like an addiction that will be very hard to recover from.
Let’s say you finish reading a good book, article or something that resonated with a current situation in your life, for example; you have a crush and you go look for relationship books or a poetry book. (Hint: Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur) Then, you start reading it and it’s like it’s speaking to your soul.
I’m telling you the day you find the book that makes you feel so good about your life or just sparks an intense creative urge (hint: Creative Courage by Welby Altidor; best book I’ve ever read so far), trust me, you’ll never put a book down.

List of Books I’ve read:

Last November, DJ/Angel Investor /Dad and he’s also someone I consider a good friend. Especially, when they do something thoughtful and kind, Mick Batyse.
This is when you really realize there are still good people with very good intentions out there. They work hard, focus on their passions and turn them into profitable businesses that help other business thrive! That’s real entrepreneurship.
He sent me an email with two book recommendations, plus some articles for me to add into the blog post I wrote (here) about the conference where we’ve met.
So, when Mick was done I went up to him and told him that I thought it was courageous to start talking about his son and then business. I honestly thought it was cool. I talked to him about Writersyep and that I was working on writing my parenting book.
I Googled him after we spoke and had no clue he was a famous DJ ! Just two people talking about our kids and business and then we followed each other on Insta!! Simple.
Follow him on IG: @mick
He emailed these book recommendations when I was going through my break up. So during my darkest period these books were a nice escape to look forward to (anything at that point was better than nothing). I really appreciated the gesture, Thank you!
With the single mom life starting, and all the new changes in pretty much every aspect of my life including my work and business, there wasn’t much extra money to buy any new books, so I went to the library.
To conclude my long-story-short (writer’s syndrome) there are now two new additions to the Berri-UQAM library in Montreal.

I was the first person to read them since making the request to have them added, now everyone will have access to read them.
I’m almost done, I’ll leave a note about the life lesson this book taught me and the name of the people who recommend this book for the library. These books have been a revelation and super educational in order to advance better as a mom, boss and to move forward successfully in my business.
Treat people how you would like to be treated and don’t assume anything about the other person. You will discover something new about yourself, and the new person you get to meet next time.
2.Listen to your favorite music or favorite podcast/Radio.
I don’t know where I would be or who I could ever be without music. Melody and lyrics have a way of speaking to our souls and hearts in my opinion.
I find music serves as a relief for the voiceless or it reflects what we are feeling at particular moments in our lives.
I remember whenever I would get bullied in high school, I would use music as my safe haven from all my worries or painful experiences.
I would listen to P.O.D “Youth of Nation’, this song would immediately transport me to my island in the Dominican Republic and I would be surfing near my aunt’s beach house in my mind. Linkin Park’s “Numb” and Incubus’ “Dig” were also important songs. These songs would help keep dark thoughts away or help me forget painful experiences. These songs would literally speak to my soul. I would write better, focus and finish all my tasks all with the aid of music. And it still does. Well… a more update version now…
That’s why soon we going to have a music section #musicyep to inspire and motivate others. As soon as I find music lover bloggers/DJ ‘s, musicians (who write their own songs ;)) /song writers, composers, producers, you get the drill right?
First, I recommend that your favorite music genre should be your to-go option whenever you’re looking for inspiration to create anything really 😊
Second, let me remind you of a simple feeling that can spark your imagination. I’m telling you if you learn to manifest this feeling whenever you need to, it can save you a lot of time. But also I find music helps bring out our inner voice, which I believe is where creativity likes to play.
You know how we feel when your crush/lover/hubby/significant other looks at you and but he caught you looking and you both smile. Remember the spot where your first kiss was and how you felt. That really good and cuddling hug you’ve received the other day. My point is, try to manifest the electricity that radiates between two people that connects them and feel the same chemistry.
Yep, that feeling.
Love, plain and simple. Do something you love or do something good for someone else. Sometimes the best inspirations come from the place you least expect.
Maybe this can explain what I mean. Watch this :
Tell me if you like this song and the video, comment. Can you relate?
Recently podcasts have been an amazing experience and a good tool to inspire writing or creativity! Listen to your favorite podcasts and let them bring your inspiration back!
Here are some music, podcasts, and motivational speakers:
GoodNight Rebel Girls (for my daughters)
(5 and 8 are ultimate Favorites ;))
I upload some of my favorites on my IG music categories.
3.Exercise & Mediate
It’s really important! Exercise = best work, fast and sanity still Intact.
Meditation keeps you humble, grounded and more mindful of your surroundings. It will make you a more tolerable human being and allow you to have a normal conversation without looking at your phone every 5 minutes. Another benefit will be the ability to control strong emotions and avoid getting burned out.
Emails will never stop coming, likes, follows and reposts will continue. Just learn to be in the moment, the present is right now, social media it’s not going anywhere. Do your thing and keep moving forward. Just learn to pause, it’s okay to take breaks! Put a timer on your phone to stop after a 4 -5 hours a day. I don’t spend more than 6 hours on my phone and most days are manageable. Plan ahead when you can, the stress isn’t worth it.
Every time I need to think of solving a problem in any of the different departments that it takes to run an online media magazine, agency and Eco- Publishing company. Which let me tell you, at first was hell, I had no idea what I was doing! Now, because I’ve been self learning and listening to the school of Greatness, going to workshops, learning from other entrepreneurs, supporting their causes and attending to their events, writing my goals and planning ahead.
Change my mindset, I’ve been more focused on my goals; both personal and business related.
I also love being a mama, it’s the best job in the world! I learn so much from them and about myself too. I’ve learned a lot about how unconditional love truly exists. It has showed me tolerance, and taught me that challenging decisions can either add or solve problems in the future. I learned to plan ahead, be mindful, more observant and yep, be my own boss by just being a mom who adores her kids so much that I write and share my experiences.
In other words, I work on what I love and encourage others. In order for all of that to take place, I need to keep my brain and my body happy.
Yes! When you move your body, whether it be dancing, stretching, doing yoga from home or taking a class, just keep the circulation flowing!
Just do something for that body of yours and brain so it keeps giving you life. Simple.
4.Write 3 things your grateful for.
I have no idea why, but ever since I started writing three things I’m grateful for everyday, I appreciate my time more, especially the treasured moments with my daughters. I love my job as writer and founder of a writing Eco-friendly community and the impact it’s been having on people. I can’t wait to see it flourish, but everything in due time. For now, let’s enjoy the process.
Also, keep in mind that in life we always experience the good and the bad situations or occurrences simultaneously.
Yep, its life and the laws of nature. You will never have the good without the bad. Learn to pay attention, and accept it too. It’s not easy either to get to the point of acceptance. But if you learn to accept the bad as what it is (life sucks and we ALL go through some dark days) but use it to grow. You can be invisible. Stay in your light.
When you have a family member’s brain dying in front you and you can’t help them get any better, no matter how many hospitals, researcher facilities or therapists there are out there, you can’t help save the person you love. You start to be more appreciative of time and moments that you used to take for granted. Now, they are the most important because you might not get those moment again. Ever.
Be grateful you are alive, that you are still here, spread positive, learn from others, pass down your wisdom and art, send joy and love out into the world.
Someone always has a story to tell which can be a life lesson for someone else. There will always be problems but there is always a solution, whether you find it yourself or you invest in it. The services or products business are all out there. Go to conferences and events that help you grow.
The circle of Human nature; to pass our wisdom down to our next of kin. Man, we are ALL storytellers on a daily basis. We just don’t stop now…We need to take breaks… breath in and look around you…for a second from our rapid daily life.
Remember everything you did or happened to you today before you end up reading this blog post? Exactly. Be grateful, live your life, mind your own and be more optimistic.
Some are having the worst day today while others might have the best. It’s all about perspective.
5.Take power Naps.
Yep, 15-20 minute power naps can do miracles. I swear, there are days that I cannot believe I can do all I do. And I still do it, everyday.
Naps are good for you and it’s a nice mental break from constant moving, scrolling, commenting, liking, posting, answering emails, making phone calls/Skype, babies, diapers, cleaning, cooking, laundry and bills..all the weight of the day.
Naps help manage the stress and if you suffer from anxiety, taking a mental break is a must!
Dreams are the door to other places we’ve never been or have we? My fiction book that I’ve been working on for the last 5 years, started as what felt like a very real dream I had when I was in high school.
Ever since then, I get glimpses of occurrences that happened to one of my characters in the story of my science fiction book, her name is Amelia. Shhh that’s all I’ll say and maybe that it will be publish in December 2020.
6. Healthy Eating
Do not go drastically changing your diet because you think it will make you write better. Start at your own pace. Fruits and Veggies cut into small portions are better than chips… just saying. Also, eating healthy has many benefits:
7.Create Quotes from your finished chapters/blog post/social media post. Visuals helps creative juices!
8.Go for a bike ride or walk in the forest.
This I called it the “observation game”. Everything around you has a story if you pay close attention and let your imagination take over. Again, everything in moderation, don’t let go too much.
Better yet, narrow down the theme or subject you need/want to write about. I know, it’s not that easy, but it takes practice and eventually it becomes a habit. You just have to constantly work at it. You have to keep nurturing it until you become an expert at it.
Just like the first time you ride a bike. You learned by falling, getting backup and doing it all over again.
Time in solitude is also very rewarding for the soul, being in nature is even better. I don’t know maybe it’s because I come from an island. I was used to the constant warm, salty air and the best place to be was near the mango trees, yep, the Dominican isn’t not known for its coconuts!
C’mon you can never go wrong with the beach and mango’s! Be mindful of your surroundings, listen to music, love your family and your planet. Be a good human and inspiration will come from where you least expect it.
