It’s the morning after the concert and we are all still humming the songs. John left us with his music engraved in our minds and our hearts. It was a remarkable show!
At first, we were really impressed with the smell of incense. Before they started, it felt as if they were blessing the stage and everyone that was there. After that, it was all beautiful, creative and positive vibes. The music left us with a mind blowing feeling of love and even more appreciation for the art of performing live music.
A recap about John Butler Trio, they are an Australian indie/alternative/roots/rock band led by the guitarist and vocalist John Butler. He is an APRA and ARIA-award winning musician. They formed in Fremantle in 1998 with Jason Mcgann on drums and Gavin Shoesmith on bass. By 2009, the trio consisted of Butler, Byron Luiters (another amazing musician) on bass and Nicky Bomba on drums and percussion, the latter being replaced by Grant Gerathy (awesome on the drums!) in 2013.
Last night John played all the ultimate favorites, (“Betterman”; “Faith”; “Blame It On Me” many more…), The sing along on “Zebra” was super electric and staggering! John’s song about his wife “Just Call”, was so lovely; I cried a little. My ultimate favorite was “Ocean”. John really does this song justice, more last night though and we all felt his struggle, his love for his music, his loved ones and his fans; without singing, all through his guitar playing! That’s pretty impressive. Thank you John Butler Trio for an unforgettable experience that left an awesome mark on our team here at Writersyep and Montreal audience that was present.
Go Check them out!
