Being Grateful, Staying Authentic and Mental Health Support.

This quote by the queen Maya Angelou always gets my spirits up whenever I read it out loud. And I hope it brings you joy and relief in knowing that you are not alone, change is coming, and failing is a learning process that is part of life.

    On today’s episode,

There are times that require us to be more mindful, more conscious, and to have a sustainable mindset. The energy shifted last week when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won! But we still have a lot of work to do.

70 million people (55% were white women) voted for evil rather than humanity. These stats are concerning, especially for women of color. All women are the source of bringing life and wisdom into this world and we do raise nations whether patriarchy and capitalism like it or not.

There are male LGBTQ parents raising their children better than women these days. If these white women are advocating for hate, evil, white supremacy, and racist and fascist systems, then these are the communities and children that will require better anti-racism and anti-white supremacy education.

No more leaving it for the BIPOC and parents to deal with it alone. Unity in education, reconciliation, and emancipation must be the goal for all of us; while also uniting to fight for our planet, equality, and justice. Racism, capitalism, and white supremacy are deep-rooted evils seeping into our unconscious minds (learned in schools, from parents, society and our ecosystems) and we need to work on conscious actions (sustainable within and out) to eradicate them from our minds. We need to embrace anti-racism education in schools, books, workshops. This is vital, especially during these times of unavoidable change in our minds and surroundings.

White People Love Racism More Than They Love Humanity

White people overwhelmingly chose racism, inequality, hate, and white rage in 2020.medium.com

Here in Montreal, Quebec, there were a lot of white supremacists and racists showing their support for the orange bigot. Yep, those on Facebook, Twitter and IG. Which is not surprising because we have the same issues here as in the USA. We unfollowed a lot of people this year and it was a blessing to be unfollowed by those that were triggered by our content. We blocked many racist bigots. It is what it is; negativity and toxicity attract each other. The more we engage, the more we feed into it. Be conscious of your own BS too, we all do it.

Meanwhile we should also hold others accountable. If they say, do, post or share racist remarks, or anything that does not align with basic human rights, our planet, and changing this corrupt system, then what’s the point?

It is all of our responsibility to report injustices, fight climate change by helping to build new systems, and defend marginalized groups and those who are voiceless. Our actions must teach a lesson by not lowering ourselves to the level of these toxic people. We must not act like them. Hold your truth and fight for what’s right, but do not feed negativity and toxicity by doing the same thing as them. That’s also unsustainable for you and others. We need to flush colonized, racist, and fascist mindsets out of our brains and surroundings. In other words, your courage, your voice, your resilience and the truth will always bother those who are rotten inside and need to work on being better humans.

It is Inhumane Not to Care About Human Rights, Black Lives , Any People of Color, Women, Justice, Elderly, People With Disabilities and Climate Change. These all matter a lot. _AO

We should not forget that this is only the beginning. We must continue to educate, organize, strategize, and hold people, government leaders, policy makers, and corporations accountable.

But we should also focus more on positivity and being more self-conscious of our own actions, how we are towards others and ourselves too. Our minds have been conditioned and programmed for a very long time.

We must let go of the energy that is no longer serving us, in order to continue growing and moving forward.

We all have to heal in a way that also helps heal our planet and others.

On the second episode of the podcast, it’s me being honest about WritersYep in the present, and talking about ways to feel good while some of us are in lockdown or semi-lockdown. Especially with the winter blues on the horizon. And pandemic fatigue is real y’all.

As an empath and single mother, in this episode, I’m also sending you some healing, positive energy, and encouragement to help you cope in these rough times.

Stay safe, wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands often, and take care of your mental health first. Remember to be kind to your mind, to your planet, and to others.

    Thank you for your support!

Being Different is Not Something to Be Ashamed or Embarrassed of. If People Are Offended or Disrespect You, It’s Because Your Realness Bothers Them.

“Real growth is when you start checking & correcting yourself. Instead of blaming others, you take responsibility for your decisions!”

Truer words have never been spoken. None of us are perfect, but we all have the potential to choose when to change toxic patterns that we know, or have been told by our loved ones (those who really matter and have been telling you multiple times of a certain behaviour you should work on.) When we are aligned with our true selves, we can recognize the bad, and take the first few steps to dismantle and grow into a better you.

We are all a working process so don’t rush your inner creative work, and be kind. Be grateful that you at least have people tell you when you’re being an a** or that you are wrong. It’s okay to make mistakes, because that’s how you grow. Nobody gets to personally develop without going through difficult situations. Trust me – I’ve learned this the hard way. Which is why I’m begging you to look from within and work on your inner darkness, and not blame the world or hurt the people you love because you cannot deal with your own toxic and unhealed behaviours. If you don’t have anything that you think you need to work on, then there is the possibility that you need to do some self-reflection.

This culture and era we are living in has brought that to light too. We are all struggling, and connected. But also, we have developed more narcissistic personality disorder traits that are rooted in our genes since colonialism. However, it is being disguised by the media, news, movies, and all social media universes. You may have your own opinion of if you think that’s true or not. But again, a narcissistic is always right, and they always have ways to distort reality. Here is a little bit of information for you to take your time and educate yourself. Also, here is how it’s associated with systemic racism, environmental racism, slavery, inequality, individualism, and sexism during a world pandemic.

Here are 5 ways to begin to dismantle the idea of normal that you have to fit in a “society or for narcissistic individuals”, rather than just work on getting better yourself; emotionally, physically, spiritually, and most importantly right now, financially. Let’s help each other out and grow out of what “society” and this toxic culture is trying to keep us in so others that are privileged and wealthy can still benefit from our struggles and insecurities. Let’s focus on our minds, and becoming a better human for our better future selves and those who come after us. Let me know if you have more to add into the following list in the comments.

    1. Stop comparing yourself to others.
    2. Take accountability for your actions and decisions. Blaming others is a toxic waste of time and space. Also, it’s a colonized mindset.
    3. Ignore negative people, vibes, and environment. Personal growth and a healthy mindset requires separation.
    4. “It’s not personal, it’s just business “. Do you ever wonder why when you hear these words that your subconscious always gives you a brief image in your mind, or feeling in your soul of being colonized. I don’t know if my white people see that when you use or hear the phrase. But I know people of color, or those who have been marginalized, oppressed, all see it and feel that way. That’s why we are honouring our ancestors for all the bs that we’ve been through for 500 years. If this bothers you, check your privilege.
    5. Use creativity through adversity and believe in yourself no matter what.

Remember, you are loved, you are your spouse and your best friend to yourself first.

That’s your first commitment. Because you have to deal with yourself from the moment you wake up until you sleep. And this life is not long, and we don’t know what happens to us when we die. So make sure you are doing good on this side while you are still alive; that people love you and remember you are as a good, happy, and loving person. Not by being an a**hole who made money all his life, but his/her family hated them, had no friends and nobody showed up to their funeral. That’s rough. Nobody remembers the a**wipe who spent their life making others miserable. Nobody cares if you had a billion dollars in your bank account, or a mansion, or own an island. Nobody cares for materialistic crap you possess because those don’t matter. Lives Matter. HUMANITY RIGHTS MATTER.

Values, integrity, honesty, kindness, compassion, love and how you treat people is what people remember. Not what you own. So remember that next time you decide to judge, gaslight or bully people just because their realness bothers you. Next time, ask yourself why it bothers you before you tell someone “you are not normal”. Heck yeah! That’s a good thing. By being different, you are living and you are free. What’s wrong with that? When did we make it a crime for a person to be not following the crowd and not conforming with the status quo? Keep in mind that there are the who/why some benefits from us not being our authentic selves.

Hope this helps, stay safe, wear your masks, be kind to your planet, to YOU and to OTHERS.

Remember we are still raising money for Lebanon, Beirut. The first 10,000 will go to Save the Children Lebanese Relief Fund. Here is why.

Ignorance Is Not Bliss During a World Health Pandemic

7 months ago Health & Wellness, Life Wisdom, Yeppin

Let’s open businesses and daycares, and not wear masks when going outside because we are doing better than other provinces and cities! Right? Wrong.

    Originally published on Medium.

The latest news around Montreal, Quebec, has most of us around here questioning the government’s intentions, as well as a percentage of its population’s moral compass at this very moment.

Here are some aspects to consider:

    • We are viewed as guinea pigs by the people in charge of this province. The majority of the population are falling right into the trap, and believe that they are above this virus. At this point, I do not know which viewpoint is more dangerous. Do you?
    • Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire. People in Quebec, specifically, in Montreal, are not practicing social-distancing. The majority who have the luxury to stay home, are not. Those who must go outside are not following recommendations to wear a mask while out and about.
    • Many during this pandemic are receiving $2,000.00 from the government. Recently, after Prime Minister Trudeau announced that CERB frauds would be legally punished, there was an influx of returns of this allowance back to the government. It makes you wonder if these people who requested the allowance were in fact financially unstable for a short period of time, or did they simply jump at the opportunity to receive free money? Their selfishness has no bounds in this case. They really haven’t done a proper lockdown three months ago. You can clearly see this; It is pretty shameful how people are acting over here, if you ever get to really see what’s going on.
    • Daycares and schools opened in Quebec areas outside of Montreal last month. There have been multiple reports that children and staff have contracted the virus. Prior to the reopening of childcare services and schools, the thoughts and feelings of staff were covered in the news. Now that they are open? No one is checking up on their physical and mental well-being. I have friends who are working in the field, and they clearly have been voicing that they are OVERWORKED and OVERWHELMED! The provincial government is not showing any signs of compassion.
    • The new boom Bill 61: What Is Quebec Bill 61 & Why Is Everyone Talking About It? Here’s What You Need To Know. ; Bill 61: Opposition puts the brakes on CAQ plan to relaunch economy ; Quebec government’s economic relaunch plan blasted at National Assembly hearings.
    • My friends who are nurses and doctors, very specifically told me that, “if you can keep your kids at home, and you can work from home, then do it”. Not every country or city has the privilege to decide whether to give their population the option to stay home and receive a government allowance. Not to mention, provide the essential services that we take for granted in Canada, and especially in Montreal, Quebec.
    • The guidelines for children and staff to follow in childcare services and schools closely resemble those designed for prisoners and guards at a prison, but modified for children’s “safety”.
    • In addition to these guidelines, the capacity of children allowed in a classroom is limited. This is a positive aspect of the reopenings because with a lower amount of children to care for, the staff has a better chance to keep the virus from spreading. However, as of July 2020, some daycares are opening to full capacity. The scientist community is predicting that if things continue as they are in Quebec, we will be in the second wave of this pandemic come September. Without the implementation of proper precautions, strict laws and regulations, their prediction will become reality.
    • Throughout the summer, the government should make it a goal to provide digital courses for children enrolled in public schools and daycares who did not receive any teaching for almost two months. Courses and materials can be charged online, and it can allow daycare educators to receive an income.
    • “More than three million Canadians are out of work thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Statistics Canada, and 2.5 million more had their hours slashed as public health restrictions forced the closure of businesses and sent workers home. In most cases, child-care centres and services have closed for all but essential workers.” on CTV News.
    • This is unfortunate, and I am part of those people that lost their jobs. Another reason why I have developed and worked with my clients and WY Brand. Writing, content creation, copywriting, digital marketing, webinar course, transcripts, script-writing, videography, photography, e-commerce, creating websites, consulting, coaching, mentorships. Tech jobs are so important and essential during these times. Providing support and funding for companies that can provide jobs and at the same time, focus on sustainability and environment, so that we can create a better future. These startups (such as this one) or new companies are being ignored and rejected many times, actually. However, I’m encouraging those working from home and taking care of their children, to make sure that they are educated and keep them safe. YOU MATTER. Those also, working from home and dealing with a mental illness and so much stress, but you still can hold a job online; YOU MATTER. If you spend your timelooking for ways to help your fellow humans. YOU ABSOLUTELY MATTER.
    • In a patriarchal society, women, especially women of color, are not given the same liberties as men to express their concerns and be taken seriously when it comes to business. When women do have the power to speak up, such as vérificatrice générale du Québec, Guylaine Leclerc, said that she is “extremely worried (about accountability)”.
    • Liberal Leader, Dominique Anglade (Yes, that’s right! On May 11, 2020, women of color made history; Dominique is the first female Liberal Leader in Quebec) voiced similar concerns:

“The premier and his government would create extremely favourable conditions for the emergence of corruption and collusion, and grant themselves extraordinary powers,” Anglade said. They are mocked, ridiculed and prevented from being heard by the privileged Quebec parties. “The impact of this uncertainty is also felt disproportionately by women, who have seen steeper job losses than their male counterparts, and are more often in part-time work. In May, Statistics Canada reported that 1.5 million women lost jobs over March and April, suggesting that women will face different challenges in recovering from the economic effects of COVID-19. “Childcare has always been an issue that has disproportionately impacted women, because women tend to take on the bulk of child-care responsibilities,” Canadian Women’s Foundation spokesperson Andrea Gunraj told CTV News.

    • By keeping the children at home, so that we can contain the spread until the vaccine arrives, will also teach your children to have more self-discipline and count on themselves. Smart-tech coders, scientists, and activists can rise from this world pandemic. Children are the ones we need to focus on and nurture. Not send them to “childcare prison” so that parents can go back to risk their lives outside. With the exception of essential workers, which is not that many, or many that have children. This is a positive outcome and can result in reducing the spread. I mean, parents, our kids will have to eventually rely on themselves and take responsibility for their own lives when they are older anyways. Teaching them now, it’s also vital and essential. From a scientist’s point of view, you need to understand the consequences of risking more children to be with more children; being around other people, and touching and putting things in their mouth. You can’t control that, and expect teachers and educators to control your child’s every impulse. Think about the mental stress that this will put both children and staff through. No money can replace health, especially, MENTAL HEALTH. However, we know very well, we can prevent it.
    • The economic crisis that is already catastrophic, still has room for improvements. But it’s more deadly sacrificing people’s health for money, without a proper vaccine being found for this virus. There are many ways to earn an income online and work for online companies. Get to work! It’s hard because you have to take responsibility for your own habits, and ways to finish and deliver work on time. We have become lazy, that now we are sacrificing our own children and ourselves so that we can go back to “normal”.
    • Also, to the parents of Montreal, think about the traumatic and very damaging experience that sending your child back to school will have on their social-emotional development.
    • The daycares and schools’ guidelines have consequences; it will teach children to be less empathetic towards others in the future. Yes, our kids are being used as an experiment, and those who are not educating themselves are falling right in.
    • The number of deaths have been increasing by 800–900 positive cases per day from just a couple of weeks ago. The warm weather is here, and is increasing in temperatures. Before they started to open some businesses and childcare services, (between May 25th-June 1st, 2020) most of the city’s population decided that they were going to go out and ignore social-distancing rules just because they can. While hospitals and staff were (and still are) overworked, and there is not enough staff or equipment (or even space) for a rapid influx of people within the weeks to come.
    • There is a political and “unknown” agenda to risk people’s lives for the government’s own monetary gain (I will be posting on my YouTube Channel my research). For example, there is a correlation between minorities and those affected with Covid-19. The most vulnerable minority communities are highly affected, while wealthier areas have much lower numbers, and seem to have the spread of the virus more under control.
    • Here is my opinion on this: I am so tired of the government’s excuses, their lack of leadership, and not forcing people to STAY HOME if they don’t need to be outside. This weekend was the first time that I heard on the radio that IT IS mandatory to wear a mask in one borough of the Greater Montreal Area, Cote-Saint-Luc.

I’m so happy for the countries and cities that after 2–3 months were able to slowly come out of quarantine and have their death tolls go down; or to not have any more positive cases.

I’m grateful and hopeful for most of the countries that have been able to recover and lower their cases quickly; many of these countries are led by women. Their leadership example, resilience, and ability to restore their countries; while planning ways to create a more sustainable and better future for all, is one of the best markers in history for women.

It is an amazing example they are leading, and leaving behind for future female leaders. Honestly, It’s good to be alive, survive, and be a woman during times like these. Unfortunately, there are those at home surviving domestic violence; my hope is that you too know that you can fight. You can save yourself. They have been trying to bury us for centuries, but we women and women of color! are rising from the ashes. It’s enough. You are not alone, reach out. If in Montreal, and you are reading this and need help at home or if you know someone who does, click here (this is a hard time for everyone, but for predators and narcissists, it’s the best time. Please be kind to you and others).

You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages. -Michelle Obama

Times like these are an epiphany that is meant to test our limits, beliefs, and values. I’m disappointed in my city. The lockdown has been viewed as pointless by some people. To the people who have been staying home and following the guidelines,I would like to thank you.

For those who still think that this is a conspiracy, or that we should go out already; those exclaiming “I can’t stand not seeing my family”, trust me, we know! However, we must all do our part. Be responsible and keep in mind that you are protecting those around you by staying home, washing your hands often, keeping your distance and wearing a mask. These are signs of respect. #respecthealthworkers

FYI: Being at home does not mean that we are “stuck” at home. We are safe at home so that others can be safe too.

Let’s talk about 4 essential things that we as human beings should all focus on to either improve upon or start progressing towards. But we should also encourage, spread positivity, kindness, support local businesses (if you can), and reach out to loved ones. We must appreciate these moments now more than ever. Our time may be limited if we are not careful. Be more compassionate while also embracing these 4 essential things for yourself.

These are the ones I’ve been working on (work in progress). I will go more in depth with my team and our communities in the months to come. Feel free to add more to these subjects in the comments. We will also be covering these topics in our podcast #YourStoryMatters on YouTube live on weekends! Make sure to subscribe to our channel ❤

    Adversity

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” — Joseph Campbell

I love this quote, and I’m happy I found it again while reading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown. This book has changed the way I used to think about vulnerability. My family, and those before them, believed that being vulnerable is a weakness not to be encouraged or embraced within ourselves. My mother raised us differently. I’ll always be grateful for her teaching us this at a young age. This book confirms my mother’s lessons even further. Being vulnerable and sharing the good with the bad, have been the key ingredients that have been helping me survive a worldwide pandemic as a single mother, while homeschooling and working from home. Thank you, Brene Brown, for showing us that our super power and what makes us human, is our vulnerability. Love, belonging, and pure inner-joy are born from being vulnerable and being authentic.

I also strongly believe that using our creativity and imagination in the face of adversity is the gift we give ourselves and others: self love.

It really is not selfish to take care of yourself, and do what you need to do, your purpose. If it is a full-time job, it is a process that you always keep learning something new about yourself and others too.We are all connected. Just follow your curiosity to discover more of the joy of living while you are here on this planet.

    Tranquility

“The first step in crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don’t.” -Joshua Becker

It’s time to really think outside the box while we are at home, and ways to move forward together. Do not support those who are spreading the virus either by not wearing their mask, taking pictures in groups outside, and if you clearly can see them not staying home. Lead by example. Check your social media following, they seem to not help themselves and tell the world too how selfish they are. I have muted and unfollowed a lot of people these days that I thought were different. How wrong was I to think that people don’t change? Yes, they do change depending on life circumstances, personal reasons and letting ego take over.

Instead of breaking social-distancing rules, you are still able to talk through direct messaging, Zoom, and support groups on Facebook or Whatsapp. Keep your distance but stay connected. The actions and things people are valuing now (pay attention). This method will help you clear those that are not good for your growth. These are clear indicators of who they really are. We can clearly see in the news, outside, and through our social networks, that normal wasn’t really working either.

Your adversity is a blessing in disguise. You may not think so at the moment, but it will eventually make you stronger and wiser. Finding tranquility, developing mental stability, and surviving a world health war are ALL of our main priorities and challenges. We must grow through the negative so we can develop better, positive, sustainable and healthier futures for ourselves plus others.

    Mastering the Art of Self-Discipline

“The first and best victory is to conquer self.”

     — Plato

We are all going through heavy and stressful situations; sadness for losing someone we lost during COVID-19, lost jobs, businesses lost, our safety net, going through some form of depression, or remission to bad habits. Adversity is different for each and everyone of us. Remember to be kind, it’s vital for our mental health survival too. No matter what adverse events you are currently experiencing, there is a purpose behind each and every one of them. For most of us, it’s difficult to imagine losing a child, people dying while saving others, or finding out that you have cancer, or losing your job or business, while living through a pandemic.

The way in which you view adversity will either allow you to be set free from the heartache, confusion, guilt, and fear or allow you to be negatively affected in every aspect of your life. These four proven ways I’ve been using to overcome personal adversity, and I hope this helps you too. This is for one of our followers on social media that has asked how to deal with stress and adversity, while remaining positive. Below are my personal recommendations. To those of you reading, if you would love to add more, please comment on our recent post).

1.Surround yourself with positive people. Be selective with the people you surround yourself with. When you are in an emotional state of mind, it’s important to surround yourself with people who are supportive and encouraging. When experiencing adversity, it’s crucial in your development to surround yourself with people who are accepting of your flaws, mistakes, and imperfections. The beauty of being human and overcoming adversity can be very challenging; when you have a supportive system helping you move forward, it’s much easier to accept yourself.

2.Write. There is something so peaceful in writing down your thoughts. However short or long your journal entries are, the process of writing down your emotions allows you to reflect. There are many benefits to writing:

    • Allows for self-expression, heals old traumas and understands your mind.
    • Helps give feedback about your life and if shared, It can help others in the process.
    • Allows you to better understand your current situation and take action at your own pace.
    • Allows you to think outside the box. Helps you plan, create, use your imagination (fiction writers 🙂), and vision your dreams or current goals.
    • Makes you humble; creates your inner joy by growing through your life journey and learning from your written experiences.

These I know to be true, since my mother asked me to write my bad dreams and thoughts at a young age. Writing in a journal once a day can help you overcome adversity. Whatever emotions, feelings or thoughts come to mind, jot it down. Years from now you’ll be able to reflect and see just how much you have overcome. Writing makes everything nice 🙂

    3. Be in nature. Nature is very therapeutic. Living in a society where we are constantly moving around, we get so disconnected from the beauty of just being in nature. Whether it be walking in the park or gardening at home, taking the time to connect yourself with nature is a good healing process. I’ve been nurturing my plants at home (I don’t have a backyard or a balcony — not complaining. I’m grateful for my little, happy, humble apartment), and I am planning to be a plant mama in the following months.

With adversity, comes stress and frustration. Taking the time to be outside (wear a mask if you live in the city) is a way for you to nurture your being, and allow yourself to take a deep breath and relax. Both the sun and the air give you a sense of calmness during the face of adversity. Take about 10–20 minutes outside each day, keep your distance, wear your mask, and I promise, you’ll find your stress level decreasing.

    4. Start investing in yourself. There is no greater investment than the investment within your own personal development. Experiencing adversity is a great excuse for people not to take charge of their lives. We all are facing adversity at this very moment in some way. What makes one individual succeed, and another not, is how they handle their adversity. Many of us allow challenges to defeat us. What we need to focus on is developing into a stronger and wiser individual because of the challenges. There is no better way to do so than developing your internal world. Start reading self-help books, podcasts, eat healthy, organize your environment, and exercise daily. Do it for you, and if you can, help others too. ❤

    Growth

“We grow fearless when we do things we fear”. — Robin Sharma

Instead of supporting ridiculous ideas, negativity, spreading fear, and continuing to believe that how we used to live, was the right way… nothing should go back to what it used to be. I know for some people they considered it to be the best life. Re-think what was the best of that life — we all had bad traits that were associated as “good”, but now, we come to realise that we needed to adjust accordingly. Also, those who are dying to save us, their sacrifices would be in vain, if we don’t learn and grow from this. We DO NOT GROW by going backwards. We honor those who left this earth by being better ourselves, nurturing and taking care of our environment, and doing good for others.

Keep in mind that we have to use masks and emotional shields to cover our reality, but we would portray to our friends and families a different digital (social media) story. We essentially became masters of “fake” storytelling and destroying our own sense of self and happiness in the process. Worse, we influenced others to follow through with this too. We learned from the greatest; how to be master manipulators and deceive not only for money, but also for a sense of acceptance. Let’s be real, you used to spend your life before trying to please others rather than yourself. That’s asking for trouble. The mental kind of trouble. Unfortunately, once there, it’s harder to come out or ever “feel” normal. Unless, you are heavily investing in therapy. Then, you should be fine — I hope.

Point is, if we go back to the way things were, we will have lost the life lessons this quarantine has brought to light.

If this virus is teaching us life lessons in order to survive and thrive through adversity. It’s a world cleansing and awakening period for a reason. Too bad it is not forgiven for those dying while trying to keep us safe. The people outside, having no business to be outside. I have identified these people as self-centered and greedy, and lack empathy. Do not worry, they will get their karma. In 14 days to be exact. I know it’s hard to watch them enjoy outside and do all the things you wish you were doing too. However, you are respecting and keeping others safe too. Just keep this in mind if you are ever in doubt. Only the strong will prevail. Use this time to prepare yourself mentally, physically and emotionally for surviving a world pandemic.

Black Lives Matter by Angie Abreu Olivo
By Crystal my camera :). During one of the first protest #BlackLivesMatter that was peaceful and respectful until later that night. When looters and just strange white people (yes, I was there and saw them all in masks and cops watching them paint graffiti on walls and not doing anything). Then, the looters started to destroy property and to make it look like it was the protesters. This is what happens when you think that ignorance is bliss and it is encourage too.

9 Things to Do to Keep a Positive and Happy Mindset During Quarantine

8 months ago #GiveBack, Health & Wellness, Life Wisdom, WritersYep, WritersYepper's Journeys

Change your mindset and let go of the old…back to normal doesn’t exist anymore. Change is unavoidable.

This is a little reminder that I think is best to keep in mind. Especially when the whole world and people you admire are constantly reminding you that you are not doing enough. I needed to write this today, because I believe those big world leaders and motivational speakers who were the beacon of light before this quarantine happened, are trying to keep the same mindset as before. I’m here to tell you that their way of living, coping with adversity, or whatever they are doing to survive, was already built way before all of this. Their financial success is the byproduct of that. What they used to do to keep that stream of income was working, but at the expense of a lot of people suffering from mental health issues trying to meet or match these well-known leaders of “success”. I bet while you read this sentence, you can picture them in your head.

They are not that many, but they have absolutely left their mark. I’m not saying don’t keep following them and listening to what they have to say. Their life lessons are guidance for us to keep moving forward. However, be selective of what you hear and learn from them. The tactics they used before were toxic at the same time. You have to learn to recognize when it’s good to consume their content, products, or services, and when it’s not. For example, I won’t mention names, but there is a writer I’ve admired and followed for many years now. His writing is amazing. His style and the way he reaches his audience is making him big money right now. At least I hope he does. However, he is using the same habits and styles that are not working anymore for some of us trying to survive in quarantine. Surviving a worldwide pandemic and also making sure you are sane, safe and financially stable; these are different spectrums that should be treated with care and understanding.

Not everyone has a marketing team that can work day and night, so that their main leader can post and emphasize “tips” like “Waking up at 5am for 30 days, will change your life!” Or “you won’t be successful if you don’t do this..”, “unproductive behaviours and procrastination are traumas we must let go of”… I mean for some, this is great motivation and inspiration — those living their best life, with no financial stress. That’s okay, you did the work before this pandemic happened. Good for you! But if you are reposting and curating the same content as before, you are creating a mental health problem for those who look up to you and are trying to literally survive right now.

Remember, words have power and we as writers, bloggers, media and creatives should take responsibility for our actions. Also, if you see the people you admire, constantly on social media and posting, they have teams and they have built a routine and ways to make money while they are asleep, before all of this happened. If you didn’t do that, please! Do not feel like you are a failure or not enough, and that you can’t start building your career now. You can, but you have to put in the hours, the sweat, the tears, the sleepless nights (not recommended for people who suffer from insomnia or have family history of Alzheimer’s and dementia. You need your 7–8 hours sleep, don’t waste it.) and just work smart, do one thing at time. They have completed each step of the “success ladder” which is a process that you can’t lie about or fake. Are you ready?

So for all writers and creatives out there:

Your work this month is to understand the difference between feeling truly alive and being constantly in danger _AO

I’ve challenged myself to write at least two articles per week. There have been drastic changes here in my city. Basically, they are beginning to re-open businesses when the Coronavirus is still in full force and people haven’t been doing what they are supposed to be doing… The increase in positive cases is up by 2000 instead of 1000 per day. Here are the stats for Quebec.

Results and data don’t lie. This is a population that thinks they are above the virus, selfish lab rats from a province in Canada with the highest taxes. They at the moment, are not paying for our necessities and rent, or food. They are the definition of a bystander and leaching system. They know and are fully aware that the population, IF they really pay attention, don’t need them in the end. Taxes can actually go where they are supposed to… There is a silent corruption, segregation and alienation that has been very well known for years in this province. Before all this pandemic started, Montreal taxes were spent on fixing streets, communities, advancements, resources, commercial, research, schools, wages for teachers, staff and etc. However, essential workers were taken for granted. Now, the whole population has acknowledged that and they are demanding more. Thanks to Trudeau (a Canadian — not Quebec initiative) who is raising all wages for essential workers this month. They deserve the utmost respect ✊🏽 This city does not value them at this moment. It’s very clear and straightforward that the government is giving people the option to choose whether to live or die.

The people in charge of this province and the poor souls who are suffering because of their poor leadership skills, will get their karma, so will the radio stations and news broadcasts. They think that this is going to be forgotten. I will never forget and I’ll document so we don’t forget. They are thinking of opening schools in the next two weeks and asking parents, who cares. Because yes, there are parents here who are very vocal, “I can’t wait until my kids go back to school already!” Even though they know very well the stats and that the situation here is out of control.

No judgment, but that’s selfish if you ask me. Kids should not be some experiment to test, especially when the outcome is death. Parents like these, don’t really have a need for their kids to be in school. There are essential workers with kids who are absolutely not okay with this… however they don’t have the luxury of having that choice. They have been leaving their kids with special daycare services which are being offered by daycares here. I can just imagine those kids dealing with strict distance regulations, waiting for their parents… now, they have to share the space with more kids next week…

This is a disaster for the mental health practitioners, because this absolutely means more people infected and more hospitalizations, putting teachers, daycares, at risk… And parents who have been working from home this whole time and have found stability with their routines, their kids, and work. So these are the kinds of things that have been happening around here and why writing was put on pause last week. Just being real. And I finished writing this on Mother’s day while waiting for my girls to come home from their dad.

Either way, here I am, to give you some positivity and happy tips that have been working so far with me and my girls. I hope I can help, please stay home if you are living in my area; this virus has not been slowing down. If you see the numbers of infections and deaths increase, please for your sake and others’… Stay home! Wash your hands (for at least 20 seconds), keep your distance, and only go out if you need to and WEAR A MASK (IF YOU HAVE KIDS, THEM TOO). We need to buy more time. Let’s flatten this curve and let’s do this together. Unity it’s our only solution. Community and collaboration can save lives right now. Other cities and countries are celebrating that they have lowered their number of cases, and they can start visiting their families first, then opening businesses and schools… not the other way around.

Alright, enough of the negative. Let’s embrace the suck and dive into positivity and happiness! So how do you find these things while you are in quarantine at home? If you’ve been quarantining for the last two months and doing what you’re supposed to, you’re a superhero! You got this, and you will come out stronger because of your kindness, compassion, and patience. Now, here are some tips to endure another month.

    1. Wake up with an intention and gratitude.
    2. Plan the night before > Routines/schedule/list
    3. Play, self-care, and use your imagination.
    4. Creativity, exercise, meditation, yoga (sleepy yoga) My girls favorite ❤
    5. Writing/reading/music/movies/documentaries
    6. Love every day. Keep in contact with your loved ones.
    7. Help your community/support local businesses.
    8. Do not listen to the news or radio. Read real stats and legit news.
    9. Dance 💃🏻 do something you love after you’ve done your tasks for the day!

I hope this helps. Keep up those positive vibes and that healthy mindset. Plan for your future and if you have kids, their future. Put together a savings plan, start seeing where your money can be invested and where it can be of better use for your community and those in need. Be happy that you get to stay safe at home and spend this precious time with your loved ones and yeah, yourself. Love yourself more, let go of toxic habits and people that are not good for your personal growth. Invest in your wellbeing and your passions.

    Until next time…Stay safe.

Be kind to your planet, to you, and others.

What have you been doing that has helped you stay positive and focused on your goals these past two months? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Tribute For Mother’s Day and All Parents During a World Pandemic.

8 months ago Health & Wellness, Life Wisdom, Science & Environment, WritersYep, WritersYepper's Journeys, Yeppin

Note #450 … Day in quarantine #58 …Outside of my place: #2 (not without a mask or gloves).

    Originally published on Medium.

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning in the suburbs of Vaudreuil-Dorion. Chilly, but promising. Today I woke up and was blessed to see my mother whom I haven’t seen for the past 3 months since quarantine life started. My sister, who has been taking care of my mother with my stepdad, came to pick me up the night before. I showered before leaving my place and we used hand sanitizer before entering my mother’s house.

My mother’s health is critical right now. My family are superheros and my mom’s guardian angels helping her through this very painful, difficult and slowly passing over journey. I’m grateful for being able to see her laugh and be so happy to see me and our family together. We bathed her and fed her together. Shared memories with her, and gave her as much love as we could. The clock is ticking and our time with her is diminishing by the hour. I know she doesn’t remember me anymore, but today my sister asked her who I was, and she mumbled (losing her ability to speak): “I don’t know… but I know I love her”. And that made all the painful things I’ve been feeling over the past few days settle — and honestly, it was good enough for me.

I’m writing this post while she’s napping, because I wanted to remind you all out there, that we must remember, there is only one Mama. If you are lucky enough to have her in your life right now, treasure her. Love her as much as you can. Answer the phone when she calls! Trust me, you will wish she would do it all the time once she stops calling…

This article was written between holding my mom’s hand and using my other hand… on my phone. When you’ve been working on and also being able to master the ability to write, create and keep building relationships through social media for the past 5 years now. It’s incredible what experience, consistency and never giving up can do. So, if you’re planning on starting anything new during this time. Build writing, design, anything creative and work on your personal development. Now is the time. Go for it. It’s never too late and you are never too old.

Grateful for my mom eating today. For moments of happiness, for moments of her dancing and laughing while we give her food she loves. These are hard moments for us. We are just enjoying every last moment and minute that we have with her. Even though she’s leaving us soon and we are grieving while she’s still here fighting, we are praying for her peace. It’s the worst disease I believe; you forget all your happy moments, and your mind becomes your own worst enemy while your body deteriorates a little more each day… It’s really true that you must think positive and beat those negative thoughts, because your own emotions and thoughts can become your biggest enemy. Be kind to your mind, be gentle with what you say to yourself and to others too. It does matter. Mental health matters.

For those that want to prevent getting this disease earlier, because it sucks and we are not as lucky to find family members that can take care of you and all your needs and basic necessities until your last breath on this earth. There are a lot of caregiving people and caregiving places. But these services are very expensive and in Quebec only for 65 years old and over or you get locked up in a mental institution. Getting this earlier is the worst way to die. My advice that we’ve learned through all of this. Prioritize sleeping. I know it’s harder these days at home, and having all kinds of problems and stressors. But I’ve been prioritizing sleeping (which I wasn’t, developed insomnia and working through burnouts before quarantine started and it was getting worse) doing that lately, and has been a life changer. Feel more energy and more sense of purpose and happiness while I work from home, help others and take care of my girls. Save this link page somewhere, if you have heritage history or that you’ve noticed the symptoms but would like to work on slowing it down and building better mental stability around this. Start now. There is no cure and it’s worse than COVID-19…And sleep deprivation is one of the main causes.

Today, I also wanted to mention someone I’ve encountered in an awesome writing group on Facebook, The Ninja Writers. Marla Bishoparticle: A Man’s Gotta Do What a Man’s Gotta Do — I really resonated with this article. But also I felt the need to remind courageous and brave mama Marla and her son, that she deserves better and much more. This is my response to her article:

Marla I can understand this. 👏💯 I’m doing the same with my toddlers. Single mom, and my ex is starting essential work this week. He takes care of the girls half the week. He leaves at 5 am, though. So I travel 20 minutes by foot so I can take care of our kids and he goes to work. We are good friends and we are keeping our children safe. 💞 Yes we will do anything for our kids, to keep them safe and sane… it’s not easy for kids during this pandemic and not being able to see their friends… so I completely get it. But I’m going to tell you something. I was your son once…. I feel guilty every day but I’ve forgiven myself and my mama too… She’s dying.. she’s in her last few days…not from Covid-19 😔 but worse… Alzheimer’s and dementia at 55 years old… my point is, I was that daughter. When I was younger I would not answer the phone when my mama would call. She would call almost every day, on my travels, when I moved to New York… I knew she was worried.. but I still didn’t answer.. I know… dick move. After living on my own after a while, I started to answer. We would talk everyday and I could tell she was happy just to hear my voice. I remember telling her, “so sorry for not answering” and her telling me, “I would always keep on calling you either way, I knew you would answer..’’ Little did we know that a year later she started showing signs and one of those signs was that she stopped calling. Not because she didn’t want to… but because she was forgetting. So my point is, it’s not fair to you either. You are the mom that gave birth to your grown up son and had to travel all that way because he wouldn’t pick up the phone and you had to go all that way… and he was home… but couldn’t answer your calls… that’s F$@& . So tell your son my story. I wish I had more phone calls with my mom now, I wish she would show up on my balcony and risk her life for me. But now, she’s in a death bed, suffering, waiting to be at peace… 😔 so please, it was brave what you did, but seriously next time tell your son to pick up the phone… And remind him that there is only one Mom. And that can be taken away any moment. Tell him he should treasure a brave and courageous mother that will do anything for her son. Happy Mother’s Day, you deserve a day off and lots of love. ❤️Stay safe 💞

Thank you Marla Bishop for also recommending that I write this for other parents feeling this way. This article is also for you. You are an amazing mama or papa. Parenting it’s not easy and now homeschooling is a different ball game. Trust me, living through it and not easy at all. But, is a process to adjust and you work on it everyday. Honestly, teachers should get a massive raise, day spa once a month and wine on weekends. Either way, Parents you’re all doing the best you can while surviving a world pandemic. Never ever forget that. Our teenagers phase we all go through, will pass. But the goal is not to stay stuck there and grow. Not responding to your mom or dad, will come to haunt you when you least expect it. They won’t be here for long. You were their purpose and they love you no matter what. They fought many battles, they went through a lot so that you (yes, you future generations of young teens in quarantine) can have what you have, and enjoy your life.

Remember, successful mothers are not the ones that have never struggled. They are the ones who never give up, despite the struggles! Happy Mother’s day every day to you and our Mother Earth❤

5 Essential Quarantine Things To Be Grateful While Surviving a Pandemic.

9 months ago Entrepreneurship, Health & Wellness, Life Wisdom, Science & Environment, Sustainability Matters, Yeppin

    #1 it’s necessary.

It’s harder than ever to write or do anything these days. It’s harder to believe in anything good anymore as COVid-19 keeps spreading, people are suffering, losing their jobs, and others are dying alone. I cannot imagine being young and growing up during this times.

However, we should never lose hope. We have to remain positive and believe in ourselves and others. There are so many positive things happening while the bad it’s still spreading.

For example, today when I read this (here) I smiled. Because, some of us do take care ourselves really well. We keep our health a priority and make sure to take care of our bodies as well as our minds. Results don’t lie. It’s unfortunate though, that it took our own health and our immune system to recognize that things need to change. I feel deeply saddened and I send my condolences to those who to hear that their family members have died alone in hospital beds.

Before this epidemic became a worldwide pandemic, there were things we were taking for granted. And I guess mother nature, has its way of showing us. I know I was taking things for granted, and I will never do it again after this is over.

    What are you grateful for?

I believe been grateful has always kept me going through hard core life situations.

Childhood traumas, my parents divorce, living in different households with different family members; I was the unwanted bastard child, cleaner, cook and babysitter of my sisters. Not to mention moving to Canada not knowing English or French and leaving all my family and friends behind, being bullied throughout high school and college, then surviving Cancer at a younger age (thanks to my mom), living in Harlem trying to pursue an acting career and almost got molested. Then going through a break-up last year, adjusting to single mom and creative entrepreneur life and raising my two toddlers (co-parenting) while building a startup with no money; and making sure my family are well who are taking care of my mother who is suffering a terminal illness early-set of Alzheimer’s and dementia at 55 years old (last stages now). I pray every day that she doesn’t get this virus because I cannot imagine her living this earth and me not be able to be there for her.

We are all going through some form of hardship right now; very heavy emotional discomfort, seeing or hearing painful situations in the news, how bad things are getting, and fast. We cannot lose hope, which is why writers and content creators around the world are releasing free content, free tips and info daily. Keeping the positivity and the spirit up is so important! Man, that’s what I’m doing in social media , my team, here and in our blog.

The more people reach out to us through DM’s and comments, the more we know it is our duty as creative healers, scientist, life coaches, content creators and artists to keep inspiring and be an example. Honestly, I cannot sleep or eat properly knowing that there is someone out there losing someone they love to COVID-19 or worse being alone and thinking that they are. You’re not alone.

At the same time, we are all dealing with the fact that we’ve been so programmed to think that things are or – “supposed-to-be” a certain way, that at this moment, fear of the unknown is keeping us stuck and unsure of what exactly we should be doing.

The weeks of quarantine are becoming harder for many of us. Meanwhile, for others, it’s like these weeks of isolation are like any normal day for them. Or “this is the perfect thing I needed to reconnect with my family again”, or “learn new things that I always wanted to do”. In other words, our mind is our beacon of light for progress but only if we are willing to make that shift.

Yep, it has always being your choice. Follow your heart.

But first, a couple reminders because the more we practise these, the faster we all can survive this and get back to growing and evolving human beings. Let’s do it smarter, because now we know better.

    • Isolation: Stay home and save lives. If you’re sick, you need to seriously isolate yourself. Have someone get your groceries and throw out your trash. DO NOT GO OUTSIDE (!) until you do 14 days of isolation.
    • Social distancing: 6 feet between people and at home. Stay digitally connected though. This is hard time for all of us. Stay strong by keeping communication flowing and reaching out to your loved ones. Nobody deserves to be alone or die without at least knowing someone cares. Show someone you care and if you know someone is sick, make sure you help them any way you can. But, keep your distance.
    • Health: Make sure while you are at home that you keep your immune up. Wash your hands, couch on your elbow, don’t touch your face and drink your multivitamins plus vitamin C. Another way, it’s by trying to reduce stress. Anxiety and depression are common during this time; which is why for your mental health, stay in (virtual) contact with people. If your lucky, you might even be able to do this with your therapist. But not for most of us, so you make sure that you keep your mind and body strong and stimulated.

These are some guidelines, to protect you and others.

None of us know for certain what else is in store for our future or the whole world for that matter. So, being anxious, depressed or not “feeling it” is alright for a couple of days. It’s normal, we are in quarantine. However, If you’re still in this mindset, you will need to make the shift soon. April is here and today heard on the radio that this might be prolonged until July…There goes our summer being suspended…

From this morning: (I write things in my journal that I’m thankful for every day. Try it, I promise. It’s happiness at your fingertips)!

    • Coffee in the morning.
    • Playlist on my phone and listening to the radio.
    • Meditation/Yoga
    • Spending time with my daughters. Keeping in touch with friends and family.
    • Sleeping
    • A soothing breeze when I open the window. Smells like summer. Seeing the pink full moon with my girls the night before and wake up at 5Am and admire its beauty.
    • Sunshine and Moonlight view from my apartment window (no balcony).
    • The ability to work from home-in pajamas. Writing, creating, painting, doing what I love and help others heal the best way I can.
    • A healthy body, healthy family and kids. Dancing.
    • A good book
    • A warm bed.

I’m not saying, “Hey!, get it together, start doing something now or else”… No, we are all in survivor mode, we all deal with stress and painful situations very differently. In the meantime, I want you to try and see things from a grateful point of view. Because I feel that the more this virus continue to spread, the more people need to hear and read positive and uplifting stories, words of healing, and how to learn to move forward together.

Remember, that you are home so someone else does not die. Nurses and doctors are risking their lives to keep us safe.

Today I want to remind you of why you should be grateful for what you already have and let go of the ego-me, hustle hard mentality. Be present, do you, and reach out when you need help.

    1. You’re alive and breathing.

You got a roof over your head, a warm home, food to eat, drinking water, and people who love you (friends and family). Then, keep in my that you have it better than most. You have good health, dreams and goals still within you to explore. Get to know the real you or those you’ve been neglecting because “I have no time”. Well, now is your chance.

    2. There are good things through all of this chaos. We will be stronger despite of it.

We have to seek from within and believe in ourselves. Especially in difficult times. Reach out to those who are in worse conditions than you and try to help as much as you can.

On the Internet, we are witnessing kindness in its purest form during Isolation and social distancing. For example, the Good News Now community on Facebook. It was created by someone I consider an amazing mentor and good friend Samantha Kris, when all this started. They share only positive and happy news.

I’m really grateful for all health practitioners, recycling and garbage trucks workers, supermarket clerks, pharmacist, delivery people, teachers going online to teach students, people going out of their way and donating to causes for kids not to be hungry at this time.

There are so many things to be grateful for, learn to use this time and recognize that and just be thankful that you have access to things, or that you can witness through your phone, laptop, computer or TV, these earth angels trying to keep us safe and happy right now.

    4. Keep positive by surrounding yourself with positive and uplifting people.

The hustle mentality has changed to:

Eat with your friends, don’t compete with them. The hustle now is against poverty, not friendship. _AO

I never realized until a few weeks ago, but I’ve good mentors and coaches surrounding me on my social media, network events I attended, people I’ve met that became loyal and good friends. Then we didn’t see each other as much. But we will always support each other. We had each other’s back.

It really is important that you surround yourself with people who are positive, inspiring and are adapting to change. Leaders of tomorrow. So if you’re reading this, and you’re feeling uneasy and uncomfortable, that means your circle of friends or the people your following are damping your growth… something needs to change.

These time are for reflection, for figuring out what we really want to do with our lives, spending our time with loved ones and succeeding in our careers or whatever your personal goal is.

    5. Now, it’s the perfect time to work on things we love and help others find that as well.

I truly hope that we never see a pandemic like this again in our lifetime.

We are all feeling it and still pretending we are super burper okay with this! Let’s come back to earth people, and concentrate. Let’s put things in perspective. There is a crucial part in all of this… we are meant to pause too. Spiritual awakening for all of us requires stillness and reflection. In other words, whether we like it or not, we are all meant to recap, adjust certain patterns and adapt to changes that must be made in order to keep moving forward together as “intelligent” human species.

We are here and we are the ones that will survive this and write on books and teach others how to survive a worldwide pandemic .

We are all chosen and are being tested in order to move forward until the next phase.

Our precious life on earth is to respect her, treasure her, not over consume and deplete her resources.

Nature it’s teaching us all a lesson. We are all responsible for our own understanding of this and shift our subconscious to progress differently. This experience, trust me, my girls will remember these days. But it’s up to me, how will they’ll remember it. I know now more than ever, how important it is to spend our life’s doing something we love, that makes us feel joyful and alive.

(Financially, for the whole world this is fucking hard) but our health is more important than money.

We need to protect those who are most vulnerable.

    Nothing else matters.

The world will be there when this is all over.

For those surviving now, let’s call these future months. “Embrace the Suck”. So let’s embrace our quirky, imperfect , fun and loving human selves made of stardust from our home! Yes, 4 weeks in, plus April just started and I’m sure it’s being difficult for most, but we must stay strong, stay home and keep healthy.

Be grateful for what you already have. 🌻

Be grateful for being alive right now and be surrounded by your favourite peeps ❤️

RP @your_storymatters_ Our #6 episode is live! 🌻 Today on the show is about what it means (still learning and working process) #decolonizeeverything and getting deeper this year with #innerwork . But also we can’t ignore that racism, white supremacy and capitalism are all bias that still are very prominent in the scientific, medical and pharmaceutical industry. The injustices that are currently happening and discrimination in #quebeccity cannot be ignored and we must protect plus support those who are voiceless.

Stay conscious, speak up when times of injustice and stay safe. ❤️

THIS IS QUEBEC. This is why they are working reall THIS IS QUEBEC. This is why they are working really hard to keep BIPOC quiet, living in poverty, worse housing conditions during lockdown. The government of Quebec has stop giving the second doses of the vaccine 🤦🏽‍♀️ and are conducting their own twist “study“ which is very clear. BIPOC are not essential even though we are all in the front line saving people, teaching, delivering and doing all essential services.

Encouraging racist and white supremacy landlords to keep marginalized people living in this conditions because once the people get evicted, landlords get a big deal 💰while there are millions of people homeless. Yes, in this city is illegal to be poor and homeless. Let that sink in.

This video only shows you the surface of what we’re living every single day. However, this video also gives a clear message for those who are still not voicing this matter because it doesn’t affect you. @kelzuncut ❤️🙏🏽 thank you for your courage 🌻

Silence is violence in this city and it’s affecting women, children, people with disabilities and marginalized communities. Where is your #empathy ?

This is what happens when lack of #leadership and keeping #racistwhitepeople in power. Well, we all learned our lessons from the USA 🇺🇸🙄yep, we also need to cut rotten apples here in Quebec City. @justinpjtrudeau

“A Canadian pharmacy chain closed off the Black haircare products section in a store, saying it was nonessential, as the region is under COVID-19 lockdown. ⁣
⁣
A group of friends went to the store to confront the store management against the discrimination and did an Instagram live video. ⁣
⁣
The store owner opened up the section saying it was a mistake. After the video of the incident went viral Uniprix issued a company apology.⁣”

“In theory, it’s common sense that identifying a problem is distinct from addressing one. But when it comes to identifying the many manifestations of oppressive systems, the sense of “waking up” to pervasive inequity can be mistaken for being part of the solution.

When we identify oppressive systems, after turning inward to recognize our own role in perpetuating harm, it is crucial we turn back outwards again—to disrupt the status quo. 👏🏾💚

We must prioritize deep listening and sustained commitment to enacting change.” ✊🏾Yep!

#fridayforfuture 🌎💚Sorry is not the usual po #fridayforfuture 🌎💚Sorry is not the usual post. However, silence, covert racism, discrimination against BIPOC, stripping children and parents rights while we are trying to survive a #worldpandemic with no support financially while also dealing with #injustice is violence. #climatejustice also includes #socialjustice ✊🏾Promise myself that I will not stay silent anymore. Even if it makes others uncomfortable. Truth, creativity, justice, sustainability, education, writing for change, kindness and love are our core values. 🌱

There is a huge difference between learning about racism, discrimination, white supremacy, inequality and sexism. Than experience it ever single day.

My hope is that by sharing my truth and of others, as we are working on growing this creative diverse media space against the status quo. And trust me, it has been very hard building this alone 🐺, create communities, hold bigots accountable, give back and work, as a single mother.

However, we hope by changing ourselves, recognize our unconscious bias, making mistakes and learning from them; still show up imperfectly and work on creating conscious behaviours, that it inspires change and creates impact. #equalitymatters Because is necessary more than ever now. Compassion needs to be priority. 🌎 Do NOT stay silent when you know and see injustice! Staying silent because it doesn’t affect you is privilege and violence. We need to stop this insanity systems and #abolishwhitesupremacy 👊🏾. Be kind and hold oppressors accountable. Stay conscious. 🌎🌻

Lesson of the day, for all of us. Even my kids. They saw a little because this is too violent for toddlers. However, they learned today #thisiswhitesupremacy and #racismistaught by watching how “police “ 🙄is doing nothing to stop them. Then show them #blacklivesmatter✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 protest from last year. 😲Yep, if a 5 year old can get it. So can you. People, this is NOT our fight!

Thank you @staceyabrams ❤️👑✊🏾you’re a gift not only to the US but humanity 🌎✊🏾Thank you for what you do. Thank you for inspiring girls and women of color, that our voice matter. That we can beat the system trying to silence our voices. You brought hope back to all of us. Even 🇨🇦 😊. We love you!

P.s: Make sure beautiful earthlings to follow, like, comment, share and save our content and those we share here 💚 White supremacy is doing is work also on all social media platforms. They are trying to silent activists accounts and suppress freedom of speech. Especially, for any BIPOC. Thank you for your support and kindness 🌻
